May 12:
We’re “Glad” its Mother’s Day at the Museum

Generations of mothers and daughters (and many dads and brothers too) are fans of the beloved Disney film “Pollyanna” and its star Hayley Mills. But few are aware that most of the film was shot right here in the Napa Valley!  In the spirit of the 1960s Disney classic, bring your mother to the “Pollyanna Valley” exhibition. View rare behind the scenes photographs, including some of Walt Disney, taken at local filming locations. Play the “Glad Game” to let her know you’re glad she’s your Mom. Enjoy delicious cookies by St Helena’s beloved local Model Bakery, in our downstairs History Gallery.

Moms get in free if accompanied by one adult or two kids (with regular paid admissions).

Signed copies of Hayley Mills’ biography “Forever Young” make great gifts (limited quantity at the Museum Store). Or buy her a mini masterpiece to demonstrate your great taste in art!

Sunday May 12, admission to “Pollyanna Valley” is included with regular Museum admission.

May 25 & 26:
Memorial Day Weekend at the Museum

Enjoy a perfect summer weekend and celebrate America with our exhibitions “Warrior Dogs” and “Pollyanna Valley.” From 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, children under 10 can enjoy free ice cream, and the whole family can enjoy music and a scavenger hunt.

“Military K-9 teams play a crucial role as force multipliers,” says Jennifer Brusstar, the exhibition’s co-curator and CEO of the Tug McGraw Foundation. “These dedicated teams are deployed wherever the U.S. Armed Forces operate. Memorial Day provides the perfect opportunity honor these heroic military working dogs and the humans with whom they serve.”

The museum will be open all weekend during regular museum hours 10-4; admission will be free all weekend for Veterans, Active Military, First Responders, and children aged 10 and under. The new line of exclusive Warrior Dog merchandise is available in the Museum Store and online, to support the “Warrior Dog Project” of the Napa Valley Museum and the Tug McGraw Foundation.
