The Museum’s Annual Student-Curated exhibition: “Remotely Creative” is now on exhibition in our free online gallery. 

The exhibition showcases the work of 31 talented student artists in a diverse display illuminating the experiences of young local artists in creating during the pandemic and is presented with Justin Siena Visual Arts and Arts Council Napa Valley

Announcing the Winners, including the winner of the People’s Choice Award!

Congratulations to these exceptional student artists for their work, and to all the talented participants for making this a memorable exhibition.
Thanks to all of you who voted for this years People’s Choice Award.
And a special thank you to our judges:
   – Connie Schlelein, retired art educator, past National Art Educator Association Vice President, board member of Sonoma Valley Museum, and Sonoma Cultural and Fine Arts Commissioner; and
   – Erik Shearer, professor of Art Napa Valley College, former Chair for the Division of Arts and Humanities.
The Museum extends sincere thanks to Monica Jacobson and Joel Kurtz for their invaluable work in making this year’s exhibition possible.

The 5th Annual Student Juried Visual Art Exhibition sponsored by Napa Valley Museum Yountville with Justin-Siena Visual arts and Art Council Napa Valley, is open in our virtual gallery. The theme is open ended, it is meant to give voice to students during a challenging year, in a world where social distancing, masks, and zoom remote learning have been the new normal.  In coping with pain, loss, loneliness and anxiety, there is still a drive to express ourselves, to make art as a form of communication. To this end, teachers and students showed great creativity and flexibility. Art is a valuable path of self-expression. Often a way to cope with unspoken feelings but also to celebrate resilience, success and joy.
